I recently upgraded from Starter set to Taylormade R11 Pro set which I am very satisfied with. That set Includes PW of course but I am still on the Starter SW & LW. Here's the questions:

    1. Does anyone know the degrees of the Rll PW, and the LW & SW starters?

    2. Suggestions to upgrade my Starter SW & LW?? I'm a level 38 and REALLY need to improve my short game.

    Thanks in advance!

    1.  Sorry, but I don't know the answer here.

    2.  My personal opinion is that the most important aspect of your wedge is the trajectory.  You'll want a club that can throw the ball up high in the air so it can land softly to minimize, if not eliminate altogether, the 'roll out.'  At your current level, I believe your best options are the Cleveland 64° wedge paired with a Cleveland 60° wedge.  I have both of these clubs in my bag right now, and even with my starter balls I can regularly stop them on the greens with minimal roll.  If there is a strong tailwind there tends to be more of a roll out, but with a little practice it becomes manageable.

Your other option is to wait until you reach level 42, and unlock the Ping 60° and 64° wedges.  These clubs will offer you the same distance as the Cleveland CG16s; however their trajectory is listed as Med/High, where as on the Clevelands it is just High trajectory.  I'm not sure just how much of an impact that might or might not have on the performance of the Pings compared to the Clevelands.  Since I've never used the Pings myself I can't really comment on them, so you may want to hear more opinions before making a final decision.

The starter wedges are 50 yards sw , and 70 yards lw . At your level , you are kind of in limbo on the wedges . The ones that are available , are costly . For the price of 1 cleveland , or ATV , you can get 2 Ping wedges . I would wait until you hit the 40 levels , and then upgrade . This way you wont waste your credits . Now if you just want a set of wedges, get the snake eyes for now . You can get both wedges for 200 credits , and they will help until then . Also go to change my equipment , and click on your irons . This will show you the yardage for your pw . Hope this helps . Happy Swinging :-)

Great advise and answers from you both. Many thanks guys. I see what you are both saying. Think I'll hang out, play and wait till the "40s" before I upgrade the wedges.

    Best Regards, Mark
