Are the extra half dots of precision or forgiveness worth upgrading clubs or should i wait till i get a full dot or more before upgrading clubs? Clubs that I have now and what i am thinking about upgrading....(level 11) TM R1 driver, (30) TM R11 3w,  (15) Rocketblade irons, (14) ATV wedges, (amatuer) max putter. I really dont want to spend money just to get a small upgrade, I would rather wait till i get a bigger boost in performance. I was thinking (39) ATV wedges for a better spread on yardages, (48) R11 driver to gain 25 yards on drive,  irons-not sure yet, putter-not sure yet. Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you in advance.

that's a good question. anytime I upgrade and then miss a putt, I am always wondering if I had a more precise putter, would that have gone in? Then I start driving myself mad and I stop and realize I am not having fun.

I think if your current clubs work well for you, then that's it but as you get more precision and other stat upgrade, and you learn those new clubs, your score will generally go lower.

More backspin will mean more control and more precision just that.

There are other elements to keep in mind such as club distance, ball flight, etc.. all of those determine how you can approach a hole.

I could see adding the 25 yards on the drive that should help your iron play a lot also something better than that starter lob wedge.

Thanks both of you, i think i am just gonna wait till the upgrades have a bigger impact. I just dont want to nickle and dime myself for very small gains. Other than the driver and wedges i already mentioned, a putter and irons are gonna wait till the higher tiers. The only reason i have that starter lob wedge row2seat, is just to cover a little more yardage till i can get to the level 39 ATV's.  50, 77 and 98 yards seams to be a good spread on wedges.

    My 2 Pfennig:

Buy two of them, 50 + 77 yds, and wait for a really good 100 yds wedge (1) until you change your irons. I suspect that you don't really need that length now below your current PW(?).

    (1) like lvl 76 Cleveland or the comparable ATV which will provide a stopping power like the lower 50 yds club does.

Yeah i see what your saying Alosso. The reason i want the good yardage spread is that i spend a lot of time just off the green. So i need a good yardage spread for chips, pitch and flop shots. Maybe i will do 50,77 and 93 yards on the wedges. I am thinking about upgrading my irons to the level 32 R11 irons, is the extra half dot of precision and full dot on forgiveness worth it?  The reason i am leaning towards them is that i ding my driver a lot more than i ding my irons. Just wondering if my timing is better with a slightly faster meter speed like with my driver.

If you can just wait on the G20s around level 58 or so they can take you to TM or more till you can get better. Dont forget the punch shot with the wedges its like adding 3 more clubs to your bag.

Took a chance and went and bought the Taylor Made R11's.  Played a few rounds and noticed a good difference. I guess with the half dot of precision and a full dot of forgiveness combined makes a difference. Yup, the irons made a difference. My average has dropped just in a few rounds. So i would say the upgrade was worth it. Also, how many forum post must i write before they dont have to monitor them first?
