Not sure if i got it entirely right, but it seems that if you finally got some dings made, described by WGT as excellent, the game will be influenced to your disadvantage, because thats the way WGT is trying to act against the dinger software.

Shouldn't they change the "excellent" for making a ding into "lucky but stupid" ?

Not sure what your saying C ....lol

....but to beat the dinger cheats....  it would be better to miss the ding than ding it.

    Maybe too many Dings.....lol

I hit the ding a few minutes ago on an approach to Kiawah #7 in a crosswind and came up .... 13 yards short ... with the correct club ... SMH

Then the putter meter just stops on my eagle putt on Whistler #7 ...

Two dropped shots ... hello 18th position in a RG ...

    Have a nice day ... :-)

Depending on the browser, settings, etc, etc. and the time of day (WGT server overload) the game can be as smooth as butter or terrible. Either way you can find the same characteristics in real life. Sometimes you can swing like a top notch PGA player. Other times (like you just experienced) you hit the ball with the smoothness and accuracy of Charles Barkley.

Either way it's not going to change from WGTs end so we either look for things within our own systems to make it better, learn to cope and adjust to those bad shots, quit playing any competition that involves credits, quit the game entirely or keep complaining to a brick wall.

    Your choice, not theirs.

Yep, nice one, exactly what happens. Someone in WGT sits around all day waiting for you to log on then waits for you to ding a few just so they can press the special " Lets mess up Covenants game" button that they have in WGT Towers.

Actually, JN, it could very well be that in order to combat any "auto-dinger"software they have programmed additional deviation into the game for a player who hits above a certain % of dings or a certain # of dings in a row.

I'm not saying that's the case but such a scenario could be programmed to occur automatically with no human intervention on WGTs part.

srellim, you may well be right my friend.

I can't speak for WGT of course, however assuming the VAST majority (i hope) of players do not use any auto-ding ( i have to admit...i have no bloody idea if such a thing even exists)..then it would be ever so slightly daft to program such a scenario which would then affect the overwhelming majority....counter productive, and frankly a waste of time I would say.

Possibly more likely said player was just having a bad day on the mouse button?

I had my worst round ever a few days ago....i hit a +10 (don't laugh or I will let the tyres down on yer bike)... I was slightly annoyed, but at the end of the day I know it wasn't a conspiracy... I was just playing CRAP. And no doubt I will have a crap day again.

    Cheers

    JN

You're right but WGT has done some worse things over the years. I often think they are just making money in spite of themselves and have no long-term business plan at all. They definitely are not a customer focused or customer friendly company.

Funny you should mention bike tires. That is my primary mode of transportation these days because I simply don't need to fire up the car and burn the gas for work and shopping. It takes a little longer but it's a lot healthier.

I'm not a great player by any means; You won't find me laughing about +10 since I throw the occasional round like that (or worse) out there myself. In fact,  I never earned my promotion to Master. They just stuck me there when they started the level/tier combination system a few years ago. In late June this year I finally got my average below 70 for the first time on any tier.
