Will we see them here eventually, and will they take over the R11's?

From the Taylormade website.... (sorry, no link options, copy and paste if you'd like)

    http://taylormadegolf.com/irons/speedblade.html

    All other Irons are Inferior

The Speed Pocket makes all other irons inferior. It’s nothing personal. It’s innovation. The Speed Pocket gives SpeedBlade irons the fastest face of any TaylorMade iron ever, creating a potent combination of ball speed, high launch, long carry and steep descent that’s never been possible before. You’ll hit shots you never thought you could -- higher, longer, closer to the hole. Available to order 9/16/2013

    *** edit

cleaned it up some, was originally posted at work with internet explorer and had no options but to post.

The one thing this site has in common with real golf is that the constant improvement in clubs and balls makes the courses too easy. I bet holes 8,9,10,11 and 12 at St Andrews were tough holes once but now they are just too short. Perhaps they should follow the example of javelin and make the equipment less effective to suit the distances, you can't continually keep moving the tees back.

IRL any new release is mostly just marketing nonsense.  I have not seen any independent review's on this yet, but you can bet ya last dollar they will be along the lines of no meaningful difference.

If they ever make it to here there is no room to make anything better than the R11 set in any meaningful way.    I guess they could play with say what the PW punches at to justify another set, but apart from that they will just have to replace the R11 set (maybe) calling it a no significant difference replacement IMO.

Personally I would like to see them allow club swapping.  That would open up choice potentially and create talk who is doing what.  There are a lot of things we would like to see though.....

R11 stats,  consistent 8i, str8 up meter, I'd buy 'em in a second.
