So I saw a post today about getting new balls (WGT GI2-S Balls) .. Thought I would try since they weren't too awfully costly. I went out to test them on St George front 9. The meter swings a bit slower.. that's kind of nice.

After that round I thought I would play St Andrew's front 9. After my first shot on hole #1 I was 66 yrds from the pin (it was on the rear left of the green. I hit the ball 60 yards with an 18MPH tailwind. I was about (guessing here) 30 yards from the stream. The ball went in and I lost it.

I thought.. ok.. bad shot.. So I try the course again.. This time the  flag was on the front right of the green. I hit my first shot and was only 36 yrds from the pin Maybe 28 yards from the far side of the water). I wasn't about to lose another brand new ball.. so I hit the ball at 52 yards with a 14 MPH crosswind (I know... BIG overkill).. and slightly to the right of ding to counter the wind. This time the ball hit the near side of the stream bank and rolled in.

What's up with this? Are these magnetically attracted to water balls? Both should have easily cleared the water (especially the 2nd shot). For now I have gone back to the free balls (one of the other is left). I can't afford to buy balls just to have them arbitrarily go into the water when they want to. I typically play with starter balls and have done very well with them (in fact they have pretty much been all that I used.) Just venting.. but if anyone has an idea I would appreciate the input.

    Thanks

I've heard it called a dead zone, if you saved the replay you can send them to WGT and explained what happened they may send you a sleeve of balls.

Thanks so much for your response. Unfortunately I didn't save the shots (not sure if you could tell how hard I hit them anyway). I will count it up as a learning experience for now..

your welcome, I lost a couple of balls there the same way. The TL's in my CC reffered to it as a dead zone. funny how all the space there and the 2 ft creek eats balls. LOL

Was playing an alt shot game. 21 tailwind. Both teams teed off. One went left in creek the other right in the creek.

Had good players, we laughed about it.

I hate losing balls, lost 3 in 9 hole game all to water or OB mistakes due to server or net lag, or mouse lag. net lag gets me all the time for some reason.

I use the Max vapor @ $2.25 ea...I've lost 3 or 4 in the past week, but that doesn't trouble me anywhere near as much as the cheap nature of the ball hawking that WGT displays by keeping the ball. Invoke the penalty but put the ball back in play...it isn't yours.
