It is discussed ad infinitum here in the forums.

Like any other product, if you don't think you're getting a good value for your credits/dollars, don't buy.

I don't spend any of my money here at WGT, and only spend credits I have earned playing videos, taking surveys, and earning from other offers.

It looks like the WGT Tour-SD ball in your bag is a pretty good value @ $0.65/65 credits a sleeve.

    I play Nike balls myself.

Heres the deal - balls are where WGT make their money from the players. Yes they are expensive but we have a choice - to buy or not to buy. And unlike real golf where you pay green fees/membership as well as your equipment, you can actually earn credits to buy equipment and all it takes is your time (and personally my time is worth more than the credits earned).

And if we all opposed buying balls would mean less revenue for WGT = less development.

This can be a totally free game to play even with top equipment (depending on where you live) - and even if you pay as I do, it is still cheap entertainment IMO.

I totally agree. For me, this has been free entertainment from day one.

In short: you need to buy good balls, if you want to have a reasonable chance at premium tournaments, like ready-goes. But then it only makes sense to buy them is if you can actually earn net credits at these tournaments.

If not, just use cheap balls or even starter balls (as now there are some pretty good slow meter clubs available).

Otherwise you're doing charity for WGT :)
