Any chance WGT might come up with stroke play multi-player tournaments ? I've asked a few of the guys I play with if they might be interested in such a format and they said they would. I realize golf is a game you play against yourself, but I think playing in a tournament with multiple players would certainly make it more interesting. I would be interested to hear the opinions of the WGT community.

I like the idea, the only down side would be to sharing shot information. Now instead of one mind you have up to 4 suggesting how to attack the shot.

Still would come down to executing the shot......

Disconnects and DQ's. If I'm playing in a Tourney I care about, I certainly don't want the internet connection of another player messing with my game play. If it's an 18 Tourney in a foursome, I'll take forever to finish.

I agree. Whilst good in principle it could be quicker to play 18 holes of real golf! Personally I like to play quickly, especially if going well, and by waiting for 3 others to play I would lose all continuity. As it is I avoid playing a stroke round with randoms due to slow play and disconnects so getting 4 friends to play the same tourny in different time zones is a hard ask.

It can sometimes be an issue getting four players for an alternate game - getting four for the same strokeplay tournament will be even harder.

I think it has it's place within a CC for those that want it.

When I play multi player though it is usually 100% fun, save for the odd inter CC MP where I really try hard as I can.  The latter is still fun but but it's more formal than larking around either with chat or skype in A/S or MP with a friend.

I would vote to keep tournaments single play.
