I just made legend this morning and was alerted to the fact that I'm now able to purchase the Callawy HEX Chrome Legend+ balls but looking at the attributes I can't see why I would bother.

I currently use the 20XI-X Nike and from what I can see this ball has much better attributes on every scale.

Can someone shed any light on why there are these "Legend " balls for sale when, on paper, they aren't anywhere near as good as the Nike i'm currently using?

Is there some secret that you find out about only after purchasing them??  :-)

    Cheers all

I tried out some when I made legend, but didn't feel they were significantly better, and as the durability is poor, I gave up on them.

I'm using my first sleeve right now. I 'upgraded' from the level 33 Calloway's. At the moment I'm not sold on them.

They're about 5yds or so longer off the tee, and about 2 - 3 yards longer on approach but the approach shots seem less consistent (or I'm less consistent). I'd used the level 33 Calloway's for a long time and all my clubs are mapped to them, so if I stick to these new ones I'll have to burn a sleeve of them mapping in the new distances and I'm not sure those extra few yards on the driver is worth that.

I tried these also when I made Leg end, but I feel they are from a bygone age, when these balls were the top balls. Since then balls have moved forward, hence the reason they are also not giftable like a lot of the age old top equipment, not worth the wait or the credits in my eyes.

This is the reason I don't play them.  If they could be gifted I would use them for every round.  They're cheaper than Nikes but I find them as good in pretty much all aspects and less unpredictable when using back spin.

Our CC has a lot of tourneys with prizes though and since I can't be gifted them.......
