My experience with the drivers is as follows. I used the R-11 when it first was available to me and loved it. When the R-11-S came out I was a bit skepical but got it and loved it. It had a bit more distance, high trajectory and forgiveness than the R-11. When the R-1 came out at level 98, I just resigned myself that I would continue to be happy with the R 11-S since I was nowhere and still have not reached level 98. When the R-1 was made available at level 92 for the summer , I wondered if it was the same club as the one that was available at level 98. And if it would be worth the extra $$$ .. I was re-assured by the folks at WGT that it was the same club, so I tried it. I must admit that I was a bit wary since the R-1 was medium high trajectory and I was used to the high trajectory of the R-11 S. I was concerned at such locations as Bethpage #2 and at any of the tight driving holes at Olympic in particular. I must say that I have had no issues with the level of trajectory of the R-1. The greatest benefit for me is the forgiveness that the R-1 driver gives me. Tee shots that were miss hit and where I expected them to wind up in the rough, somehow found the fairways. My driving the fairway percentage to the fairway has improved. The benefits are magnified at places like Oakmont, Olympic and Merion where tee shots in the fairways are critical. The meter speed is slow and the club is extremely easy to hit. It IS the best driver by far that WGT offers.
