Just enterd my first master tiered RG at congressional full 18 .Shocked when on first green it was tournament  speed greens!!!  I specifically entered the master tiered RG thinking that like the free weekly tiered tournaments, naturally the default green speed would be very fast, NOT tournament speed!! I could understand if I entered an open RG the greens speed could be whatever but I thought any tiered tounament you enter, RG, premium, etc.,you would get the default green speed for that specific tier, which for me is very fast.  Also no where on the sign up page were any conditions listed so could not find out before hand either. is this normal?? any tiered RG you enter, are green speeds random or what? if I knew this was the case, I never would have entered in the first place!!  please help!

Conditions are on the right. Click on the RG you're interested in, and the box on the right will show you the conditions.

Thxs, jay guess any tiered RG is random green speed, but no where on the faq page about RG's does it say where you can find course conditions!! and I guess to put that info on the sign up page right before you enter a RG  would make too much sense in wgt's eyes. Thank goodness for the forums and members like you.

They aren't Random really either. They are whatever they were set at for that round of RGs.  WGT change the RG set about every 3 or 4 weeks. So that one will be tourney as long as it exists. It actually gives you a good chance to play in conditions you will be playing very soon. When i was Legend almost all the legend tier RGs for a while were on champ speeds.  Made the move up relatively seamless.

Agree would be better to have it in the game client window before you buy not after, but i guess the way that WGT looks at it, when yu play real golf you don't know exactly what speed the greens out on he course will be playing.  They can stimp a few and tell you what it is stimping, but that will likely be in the morning after they were mowed, so if playing in the afternoon they won't be rolling the same with the sun and growth etc. Even if you practiced on the practice green still doesn't mean the greens on the course will be the same. However, I do get what you are saying. I would prefer to know that stuff too.

Wait til you jump in a tier based RG that has the tees moved up. Your looking a the scores wondering why they are so low and one day you throw caution to the wind, or maybe you have had  a few too many, and you throw you hat in and you're a legend playing from the Pro/TP tees.  That info cannot be found anywhere.

Good luck  at any rate. The wild world of RGs can be very addicting but immensely frustrating, so be prepared.

You're welcome, and good luck in the RG tourneys. And I'm still a "newbie" as far as helping goes. There are quite a few "old-timers" (not age-wise, but experience-wise) that offer GREAT advice and tips in the forums. You can also check "closed tournaments" and kind of get a feel what players are shooting on those courses. I'd like to play in some, but I'm not at that "level of play", YET :) Jay

jsweetcr, is that what the "ALL" tourneys are? I mean from the shorter tees.
