Hi I'm new to this game but have played "real" golf for 15 years. I've no trouble on par 3s - unless I put my coins in for a "Nearest the pin" - at which point all the laws of physics seem to disappear. Normal par 3, I usually manage to get within 10 yards . But on "nearest the pin" I'm lucky to hit the green. No change in the preparation: line up the shot, take into account wind ... it takes off as I'd expect - then for some unknown reason, it'll veer in a totally implausible trajectory. For example, 10 minutes ago, I hit a "perfect" takeoff into a straight headwind. Downhill fairway, 160 yards to the pin, using an 8 iron at just short of max power. In normal play it would draw slightly left, land a bit short, then gravity + momentum would take it onto the green, finishing relatively close to the pin. This didn't... it went straight till it was almost off the top of the screen then as it came down it went RIGHT - and rolled off the green (eventually stopping 14 feet from the pin). What happened?!? Is it an AI issue?

I'm on strokeplay National Whistler. Hole 10, just used my last 10 credits. Heavy right to left wind, pin 108 yards from the tee. Didn't want to overshoot it so rolled down to a 9 iron, 3/4 pace. Aimed right so draw + wind would take it toward the hole. The line was right - 3/4 swing took it sailing over the pin though and surprise surprise, off the green. AGAIN. Here's where I arrived, with an 8 IRON with a 3/4 swing?! Maybe this is just sheer frustration that a bog standard shot I can hit in real life is so impossible to repeat in this game... or is it deliberately this way?!?

Have you noted the actual conditions before clicking that TEE OFF button? Not just wind but green speed?. Tourney speed greens are ~30% faster than Standard speed, Whistler greens slope down after pins on on some holes making speed and spin applied even more critical.

WGT ain't out to get you,
