I think I had Raptures when I played off the pro tees,

To add to my previous post...   I remember the faithful Raptures....  they were very good clubs,   I luved em ...lol

Off the Tee's the Op is hitting off is not too much of a problem

Having the top shelf clubs can be more of a hinderance off those tee's as you will be hitting shorter shots (clicking earlier than full) which can cause more trouble

You need the top end clubs on the Blacks if anything.   Just Saying

My reflexes are slow, so it helps to have the slower meter equipment.  Thank you all that chimed in.  It just seems that I'm not getting any better for all the rounds that I've played.  I keep trying, but it just seems that all I'm doing is spining my wheels.

I know that feeling about the quick speeds.

You will struggle with the R11's then, even using the max golf balls they can be quick.

Not sure about these clubs....I have the L97's and are very good.  Try the L85 Nikes.   High trajectory and a good distance range with the clubs...  maybe a little faster than the clubs you are using now, but not too much.    Maybe rent em out and see how you go

I'm 68 - used to be a Navy Carrier jet pilot - my reflexes are also slower than they used to be

PLAY WITH THE FREE WGT BALL - work on getting close to the "ding". - It will cost you ZERO.

Don't worry about not hitting the "ding" - get as close as you can.  When you are as close as you think that you can get, move to a ball  with a slower meter (I already recommended the Callaway 33)

Regardless of your scores, the $6.00 Max slow ball is a RIPOFF.  On average, you have to complete 5 of the stupid 120 credit surveys to 1 sleeve (3) of these things. Time one of those surveys - aren't you worth more that $2.00 per hour??

If cash isn't a problem - disregard all of the advice given on this thread : )

Seriously, you have to know that as we age - we lose a lot of what we used to have and cannot do things that used to be easy.  One thing that I have not lost is my competitiveness - this damned game is not allowed to beat me - but at the same time time, I'm pretty sure that I will never beat it!

Press On & have fun don't get worry about scoring 27's on 9 holes or 50's on 18 - heck, if PGA pros can't do it - why should you?

I'm 49 now and as much as I have practiced to hit the "ding" I cannot consistantly get close no matter what ball I tried.  I'll have 2 or 3 good shots in a row and then suddenly I miss the ding really bad. As a result, I have ruined many games with just one really bad shot (usually more than one).

I have gone with the Max balls even though they are so expensive and do lack the spin of some of the other premium balls. They have helped my average big time. The meter is super slow and very smooth. I love this game and as with anything you're willing to pay the price (surveys & videos included) for what you love.

Consistancy and control are extremely important. Figure out what meter speed you are comfortable with and go from there.
