  I got some lvl 97 Nike forged irons and was wondering how people play the wind and rough.  Thanks

  I play them pretty much the same as the R-11's they replaced in my bag, at least for distance. Slightly less spin imparted than the R-11 clubs - but that suits my game just fine, lol.

  Short irons (PW - 8 iron) seem more solid for distance control & consistency than the R-11 clubs. 

  Been playing the VF Nikes for a bit over a week now and I'm pretty happy with them.

  just cut down on the spin used compared to R11's and u will be fine. The PW at 120 yards is a stonker of a club. No spin necessary

  Example - Merion #15 116 yards out 12 wind against, hit 120 with a tiny bit of TS and stiffed it to 2 feet.

  Well for me it was like this until last week. Since then the irons are much more sensitive to wind than before.

  Anyone else got this problem, or am I the only one?

  Has anyone on WGT or Nike themselves worked ou the various DISTANCES (relative to Back Spin) for the VF Nike lvl 97+ Irons ( like R11)

  When I got the level 97 irons, I noticed immediately that they seemed to get knocked down in cross wind or head wind situations.  I played a practice round with them and took mulligan after mulligan with them using different yardage and spin calculations until I got comfortable with them.  I like to use full b/s and for me, in a horizontal cross wind I will add 5 yards for the crosswind and then 5 yards for full b/s to my normal shot. When the wind is in my face I will add the wind speed that is in my face plus 5 yards for full b/s.  This has resulted in my being faithful to the process because sometimes the numbers seem way off.  I hit the irons normally, in no wind or tail wind situations.  I have also found that the ball will fly longer with 3/4 b/s or no backspin.  For instance I will hit a 3 iron in a crosswind with 3/4 or no b/s if I want to hit the shot maybe 230-235.  I hope you find this helpful.  I'm really not a big number cruncher but play by feel so this may or may not be too helpful.  I must say that I got a real education when I hit the same shot over and over with mulligans in a practice round.
