That's good to have someone nearby who can help you. Is your niece going to help you with the freeze problem?
Even if your niece can help you with maintenance it won't help much. 758 mb of memory just isn't enough to run the game without major problems.
Believe it or not I also have Dell 2400 ,which is a stone age ,but what I did was inserted 2 memory cards 1 gig ea. which is running Pentium 4 as well running Windows 7 . May want to invest in memory cards
