One of the elements missing from the  WGT "reality check" is the fact that the game is not played by robots i.e. in the real world give 100 players the same club  and they will all hit the ball in different ways /distances/trajectories ,etc.

Why don't WGT given each person e.g. 100 physical characteristics points which can be split between a number of different groups with ,say, up to 10 points per group. e.g. height /weight/grip strength/flexibility / balance, etc. Each of these could be weighted to give different players certain advantages when playing various types of shots

    e.g.

Grip strength would give you better distance when coming out of heavy rough/weed ,etc.
Balance could be of use when in bunkers/on uneven lies ,etc.
Weight could keep you still better when putting ,etc.
Flexibility would give you more /faster swing speed and hence more distance ( not related to meter speed)

You would be allowed to adjust each of these over time , say 1 or 2 points per month. - after all, our physical characteristics change don't they..

You could also build in bonus experience/stamina type value for people who play regularly/alot. . (up to a maximum)

Of course if you wanted to change your characteristics quicker, WGT could sell you the services of a personal trainer.... :-)

Ideally this might mean that certain players would prefer certain types of course i.e. the longer straight courses with  easier rough might be better suited for some, or the shorter courses with crazy rough/greens would suit others

I am sure we could come up with more "characteristics" which could be included e.g. average hangover level (time to go from hole to hole) , ..size of nose(can affect your balance when driving) ; , apathy level (who cares=random shot outcome) ...hair covering(cold golfers play quicker ?), size of .... feet... well you decide....

    K.I.S.S

100 options would confuse a lot of people.

I agree about keeping it simple !

I just meant that you have e.g. 100 points split between a number of characteristics.... e.g. 5 characteristics, each with say an average of 20 "points" each. The actual number of points is a minor design decision ... its just the general idea I was trying to get across

FWIW I would envisage 5 sliders ... HUGS  (a Helpful User Graphical System   ?) to go with the KISS  ;-)
