What do the numbers mean on the hole information screen concerning the green?

It has a 1,2,3 with corresponding numbers on the pic of the green. Is that green height?

I assume you mean something like say you have par 3 thats 190 and you seen other numbers like 175 or 205 on the top view? if so, that's the distance to edges of the green, which helps when you determine carry and how much backspin to add, so on.

    If you mean this Ignatosky...

...I think the signed figures in white represent the elevation of those parts of the green relative to the zero and I would guess that the figure in black is the distance between the two indicated points. (Having just visited this green, BPB 15th, the only figure I can be sure about is the black 32 which represents the yardage from front to back of the green).

Yep, the white numbers are essentially useless, since they only show the +/- distance to the middle depth of the green.

What would be helpful is numbers defining how far from the front and near side of the green the hole is. I think the front/near side location hole position info for each hole is provided to pro players before each round of a tournament.

Useless? I believe it helps to know the way the green slopes if that's what those numbers mean. I never used them myself, choosing to learn the hard way.  Maybe if some of the gamers took this into account there'd be a few less WTF shots in their game. :-)

*edit-I just went and looked at a few holes and not all of them have those white numbers. Apparently the black number is the depth of the green like you pointed out.

    +1!

BPB #15 has an extreme slope but is it 16+16 (of which unit? yds? ft? inches?)? No, it's 6 ft = 72 inches.

One rather flat example is BPB#2. It shows +15 / 30 /-15, and the total slope from front to back is about 14 in.

Thus, the numbers in question point to the green center and are of not much worth without knowing the pin positions. But, different to reality, we get the pin distances by default, no need to calculate from green center or front of the green.
