    Hello,

Just reached 42 the other day and i think its about time i get some new wedges. i am currently planning on ditching the hybrid as many have said on here for three wedges and I'm thinking about the cheap ping 41-42.   Currently with R11 clubs and planning on the G20 set once i unlock it, only concern is picking the right angles.

I'm betting that the 64° is a necessity as it is the shortest distance.  Now would the 58° and 52° be a good pick for the last two to fill in the distance or a 60° and 54°?

    Regards,

A good rule of thumb, is look at the distance between your 64 degree wedge and your PW from your irons, then equally space the other 2 mid wedges between to cover more distances, If your considering upgrading to the G20's, it may be advisable to use the PW from that set to determine the equal distances.

What I've always done with wedges is buy the most lofted one, the 64 degree and then two that most evenly fill the distances between that and the PW in my iron set.

With the Ping wedges you have more options than the others, you should be able to get those gaps pretty evenly spaced.

And you're right to drop the hybrid.  You'll use a 3rd wedge a lot more than you ever will a hybrid.  Learn to punch the wedges as well, this is like having another 3 in your bag once you get to know how the ball will react.

When picking wedges , the rule is , start with your p/w , and work backward . Space your wedges , between 15-20 yards apart . The Pings are good wedges , and they dont cost an arm & leg . So if you are planning on the G20 irons as an upgrade , then pick your wedges according to those clubs . You want to make your upgrades last as much as possible , so as not to waste your credits . So far my Ping wedges , have lasted through 3 iron upgrades . I have had the upper level G20s , 79+ Rocketbladez , and now the 90+ Rll`s .                                                                                                                                                                             You will find with the Pings , that you wont get the mad backspin , as with the clevelands.. They will hold the greens , and have good stopping power . You wont regret buying them at all . Hope this helps , and good luck with your game . :-)

64W goes 60 yards. I'd go with 52W (100 yards) and 60W (75 yards), you can learn to punch the 52W which is around 84 I think. But if you need a VERY short wedge, I'd also get the 64W ATV at L39, which goes 50, instead of the 64W Ping. It would cost 895c for those 3 (Ping, Ping, ATV).
