When hitting to a green, it there anyway to determine the contour of a green for an approach shot?  As a relative newbie, I've hit some nice shots to the green only to have them roll off due to slopes on a fast green.  Thanks for any helps / tips.

    There are two ways indeed:

Select shot type pitch or chip (only short irons and wedges) and klick on the are to investigate,

select the putter as a club,

and you will see the common grid.

It doesn't compensate the weakness of your Starter clubs and Starter ball regarding low trajectory and (almost) absence of spin. There are many situations, notably in the CTTHs, where you cannot hold the green with those.

    Edit: all irons!

    alosso:

Pitch shows the moveable grid with any of your irons, not just the short ones.

Other than that, you're correct as usual Sir.  :-)

(edit:  on re-reading...you may have actually been indicating that chip only applies to short irons and wedges.  Blame that darn English language and its ambiguities...)

I stand corrected, only flops are limited to short clubs = wedges (not PW)..

For those who want to see it,

    - a 3 iron pitch

    - a 3 iron chip
