Hey golfers, I am new to this game last week. Could you please if you have time, give me a little advice.   My average has gone up ten strokes since going from amature to pro, lol ( I am miles from pro, but guess not getting them gimmies as an amature, has really hurt my game )  Anyway, one nice guy befriended be and gave me a sleeve of balls as gift, and really helped me out as the meter seemed to slow a bit. But the big problem is putting. Now, I have been watching videos and taking survey's, or trying to take them, but seem I don't qualify for any of them, but have finally reached 400 credit points. Yee haa,    thats at about two or three points at a whack. (maybe thats my problem, too much time trying to get credits instead of practice. )  Actually have been practicing couple hours every day, and lots of hours on weekend.

My needed advice comes here. Would you recommend getting a new putter,( I think a ping putter was 400 credits )  would you instead get that putter pal ???  Would you hold out for more credits and get something else ? Or, would you do something else.   Once again, thanks much for your time and your help.  Ps,   Would there be any benefit to getting a golf bag some day ?     Thanks you much !!!

    hey Tijer,

Welcome to the addiction that is WGT. Putting is by far the hardest thing for most people to pick up. Practice, Practice, Practice.  Putter Pal will not help you with your putting. Search the forums there are putting tutorials and all sorts of other informative posts on everything from wind to wedge play.

Sent a friends request maybe we can go a round or two sometime.

    Tijer, Welcome!

Before spending credits on the "Pals", read thru the archived threads on such things as printable putter gauges - you will find that you can make your own "Pals" for free or very little.  Read about "Bilko's Wind Calculator" to get a grip on winds. There are a couple of threads on putting. All can be found in the "SEARCH" box to the right side of the screen
As to upgraded equipment, yes, just about anything in the Pro Shop will serve you better than the 'Starter' equipment - but at a price.  Do not, however, start buying expensive golf balls (i.e. anything over 100 credits) until you have better equipment.

Take surveys and watch videos to get 'Free' credits - you can dump a ton of cash here, but I recommend earning the 'Free' credits first. Some people have claimed to have gone to the Tour Master Level without spending any cash - it is up to you.

Yes on the putter and no on the Putter Pal. All it is is a convenient scale that fits inside the meter. Make your own after you get the new stick.  A piece of tape is quite popular.  :-)

As far as your average going up, that's only because it resets when you switch tiers and will be based on your scores in the new tier.

Tell her it's a great way to take care of presents for you on your birthday, Christmas, etc. Tell her you want a Subway gift card and then come here and use it.  ;-)

Making a DIY stick-it-to-your-screen Putter Pal is a lot easier if you spend the minimum 10 credits to get Putter Pal just once so you can copy it off your screen.

Or you can use a free, never wears out Putter Pal like application like VGG Caddy

There is a $3 Pro version of VGG Caddy that has more features than the free version.
