You need the ability to move ball on tee left or right with in the markers.

Good idea as in real dolf.

It would be good if player could adjust height of tee to take in account head/tail winds etc

Tee position/height to be selected by player as in real golf where height of pin is determined by wind direction as back/topspin not possible with woods

The way it is now, it's the same for everyone.

For me, it's never been an issue.

Though WGT has a remarkable level of realism it is still a virtual reality computer game. Making the game programming even more complex might cause undesirable effects.

In other words - Be careful what you wish for.

+1 Apex - no more complications!

They designed a fantastic virtual golf game, and apparently further amendments are scarce.

Concerning OLY#1, a punch shot might help to battle crosswind, as does a controlled miss of the ding to the right for me. Under really adverse conditions, GIR may be impossible.

    alosso:
They designed a fantastic virtual golf game, and apparently further amendments are scarce.

I would wager if WGT had to do it all over again they would have more options on the tee box set ups as in real course set up.  The initial design appears to have locked themselves into 4 specific tees per hole with 4 pinpoint locations and 1 photo per tee box location.  And the initial design also locked them into all tees being of the same color.  In other words the course setup for TL and Legend tees give all black tees on every hole. Unlike the option for Easy, Medium, and Hard pin locations there is no option(s) on tee locations.

IMO it would be great enhancement to the realism of the game if:

-The ball could be moved left and right on the tee by the player as stated in the OP

-The tee markers could be varied by +/- 10 yards on each tee area.

-The tee boxes can be mixed for a given round.  For instance, on some holes the black tees could be placed in the area normally used by the blues.  Moving the tee up a bit.  In a like manner, blue tees could be moved back to the area normally used by blacks.

As the Par 3 yardage would be different each time, it would be a great help to the rote Par 3 club selection we have now. ("ah, 5 head wind, that's the 195 club with half backspin")

But the initial design decision of fixed tee locations makes these variable tee enhancements very costly IMO.
