Usually, I add some spice to the discussion, but I hesitated now. I'm struck by the discrepancy between your obvious desire to show your provenance and their lack of recognition in the world. The Scottish referendum shows your siblings' feelings.
It's a pity that the company don't give away their rationale for the flag&country selection which would be constructive to further discussions. Nevertheless I'm convinced that they will not split Great Britain into it's parts, neither by flag nor by name.
