  You have been gifted a Speed Boost which apparently became active. You can disable it in the game options - scroll down if necessary.

  To disable the Speed Boost click on Menu in the game window, and then click on the Options link. Click the Display tab at the top of the window, select None next to the Ball Speed Boost category and then click Save. This will remove the Ball Speed Boost.
