what i some times do if im struggling is just go out on a practice round select chip off the tee and just hit chip after chip purely for timing

i find if u play slow u struggle to ding or close to ding consistently so play faster and if struggling hit 10 or say shots in a row on chip etc to help you're timing, also selecting somthing like started ball has always helped me, play 2 rounds with that ball and meter looks so slow when returning to nikes (but practice needed to get timing back)

What works for me is to focus on the ding line and let the dinger enter your peripheral vision.

Yup this is the way I do it, but still have a pretty low ding rate but I often want to miss either side of the line to counter wind.

But some days I just cannot get the co-ordination going, so recently have reverted to the Max balls - the downside if the number of times I click very early is not good!

Regardless it is possible to score well, last night I shot a 29 and hit the ding 5 times in the 9 holes - including putts.

The important factor is to know what your clubs and ball will do with the various spin applied, then if you can get near the ding you will see better scores.

If you want to improve your game , you first have to improve in these areas .

    Driving Acc.77.09%

    G.I.R.69.19%

    Distance to pin 16 ft.

    One Putt % 30.49

Hitting the ding is not a guarantee , of shooting lower scores . Thats just a myth , to make you chase your tail . You have to learn ball placement , and good course management . It also takes good shot selection . Work on your short game , and get your pin distance down . That is a must , to improve your scoring .

Too hit the ding , you focus in front of the line , let the meter come to you .Much like playing baseball , you lead the meter . Personally , I only play the ding , on either head or tail wind shots . Other wise , I play off the ding , allowing for wind . From tee to green , its how I play . I even putt off the ding , allowing for break .

So the best way too improve your scoring , is by doing 1 thing . Practice , practice , and more practice . Work on those areas which I pointed out , and you will improve your game . Good luck , and hope this helps . :-)

I am aware of all those stats.

Being everywhere but the ding is one of the reasons those stats are what they are. And those stats have improved as I have progressed. (A side note: I wish those stats would reset and only show your current level or last 50 games or something. When I first started this game my stats were MUCH worse. It is a slow road getting them to improve.)

Perhaps poor clicking is a better description than non-dinging. If a player can't hit the ding when required it also stands to reason that they can't hit any spot on the meter that they require. I guess some people just have better co-ordination and better reflexes.

I just put my mouse pointer exactly where I intend to click every time. I click when the line reaches that point.

+1.......if you are switching between balls, including starters, practice a little to gauge where you need to place the mouse pointer on the meter to click for each ball type....it gets you close to or on the ding.....hitting the ding is not always essential, though, as the conditions will dictate what shot you choose to hit......

    :-)
