I have rarely seen a golf course that has 14/18 holes played directly into the wind yet WGT consistently creates this scenario. It is a difficult enough game without imposing these added difficulties for those of us at much less a level than the Masters etc. who seem to be the only ones who can win any credits in Tournaments.  Comments are welcome.

It's intentional to make each hole have a random wind direction to stop people continually restarting until they get the winds that they like. In some of the tougher tournaments the winds are changed to make the rounds harder.

daimauwr its senseless to try to ask WGT anything, all u get is answers from other people who like to hear themselves talk

@ Doran - so it would seem. As a Tour Pro 70.6 average it is frustrating to know you haven't got a hope in hell of qualifying for USPGA tournaments when the cu line is 59.  Not a level playing field at all.

    Madam Fish got it right.

On a side note though, in SP events, I wish we all had the same winds.

I agree. I just played the Cutter and Buck Tourney. 26 mph winds blowing from left of the green. Hit the ball and SURPRISE! The wind changed to from over my shoulder, as I hit the ball! Ball sailed 20 yards over  the pin. I ended up shooting an 81. Not bad under gale force conditions. (every hole 26-32 mph winds)

The leader shot a 60!  HOW??? I won't play it again, as I don't have a chance to get into the money. How does Cutter and Buck like that scenario???

I don't want it to be easy. But frickin' IMPOSSIBLE???? Count me out, Cutter and Buck. WGT screwed you on this one.

+1 on the Madam Fish comment.

IRL (well at least here), ever notice how the wind power increases as the day progresses?  It would be nice if the winds all blew in the same direction for every player instead of the randomness.  Also, it seems like the winds should slowly increase from hole #1 through hole #9.

That makes sense. But you could get the best of both worlds if every tournament was single play.

No restarts and the winds could be real-world, i.e. one relative direction.

@courteneyfish.  Thank you for your insight and advice about forums being for open debate and advice. A forum is a discussion area. My comments were designed to open a debate as you so rightly said.  For your information I invited comment before approaching WGT to see if my concerns were commonly accepted or if I was entirely out of line.

Please be aware that WGT promote a "realistic" golf playing scenario. Playing into a wind on nearly every hole is not realistic for a couple of reasons - the most important being that there is no golf course built in a straight line directly into a prevailing wind (from my compendium of 1000 golf course maps around the world) and on some days the wind doesn't blow at all.

In my earlier years (now 74 yrs) I played off a 9 handicap on golf courses in more than 20 countries. I have played in rain, gales, even on snow but rarely have I had to contend with the constant difficulties posed by WGT. It is also apparent that as you progress up the tiers the playing conditions become harder, so effectively WGT is penalising the player. Golf used to be best on a still sunny day - a rare find on WGT, especially in Tournaments.
