The Callaway player missed the fairway with 1/4 of the drives, meaning probably missed dings and lack of rollout in the rough, both of which cut down on driving distance. The other two players held 100% of their drives, offering a better benchmark.

    andwhy67:

The Callaway Legend 45+ ball @ 300 credits is a good ball, the only downside is a 2 dot durability rating.

and.... they don't come in yellow "yet" and are not giftable.  I'd play the legend ball in a heartbeat if they were at least giftable.  Many times in a round, I  like to say, "sleeve if you make this shot"  but if they have a Legend ball I can't gift a sleeve so I'm stuck with the normal "vns" instead.  ;-)

Great point, but the difference between the Nike and Srixon is what I think made the comparison the best anyway.

I used to love the Cally legend balls.  For me the biggest downer was not being able to gift them.  In our CC we have many tournaments where balls are offered as prizes, not being able to be gifted your regular ball is a big no no.

Add "not being able to gift cally legend balls" to the never-ending list of wgt's odd business strategies.

The Callaway Legend level 45 ball is the best ball and value in my opinion.  I have used them with both the R-11 irons and the Nike forged level 97 irons and they perform very well. I don't sacrifice any distance off the tee against the Nike ball.  I find the spin easier to control with my wedges.  And I am mistified why WGT won't let these balls be gifted to Legends.  Especially when a non-legend can go out and buy a Nike high performance ball all day long.

    +1 totally agree.

The only downside is the poor as in 2 dot durability rating, apart from that l use them a lot!! And another good ball is the WGT Legend G12 SD2 ball @ 155 credits!!
