When I set my putter meter for 100 feet and hit a level putt 50%, it travels 50 feet.  Or hit it 35% it travels 35 feet.  (I've tested this)

But!!!!!!!  When i hit my 100 yard Gap Wedge 80% it DOES NOT go 80 yards as it should, but much shorter!  Even 90% only goes 84 yards.

    What causes this discrepancy please?

This is the best that I can do to explain it.  I do not fully understand it but, all the power meters are not linear EG: 50% meter does not equal 50% distance.  The putter is the closest to linear.  We are slowing making more clubs approach linear but in reality our game is based in physics where power and distance are not a linear function.  If you apply 2x power to a cannon ball it does not go twice as far.

Wish that canon ball was aimed at that explanation!   Sorry    but true.

It took 1,635 ranked rounds to realise this and make an issue of it?

I think the problem is that phrase as it should.  WGT has never stated that hitting a 100 yard wedge with 64% power makes the ball go 64 yards, this is something you expected to happen, it was never promised.

I found the explanation perfectly reasonable and plausible.

    +1 Mainz...

In real life, if you take a half swing with your driver, do you expect the ball to go half as far as it does with a full swing?  Of course not, because physics won't allow it.  That's what the "not linear" part means.

1st of all I don't know how you tested those putts but if you play on tournament greens and if you hit a level putt at 50% on a 100ft scale it goes 65- 70 ft on tournament greens and 35% closer to 50 ft....

as far as the wedges go, I had the lower level Max  wedges once...that 100 yrd wedge goes 102 yrds dinged full power, 92-93 at 90%, 87yds at 85%....

they reduced the spin on yours Max wedges but your using a ball with very high spin and distance rating so w/ that combo god only knows what the distances would be but I guarantee you it's further than 84yds at 90% power....hit it with a little topspin and see if you don't get better results...
