I just found this right on the USGA home site:
Rule 4-4
Types of Clubs Selected for the Stipulated Round
Q. May a player carry more than one of a certain type of club (e.g. more than one putter or driver) or carry some right-handed and some left-handed clubs?
A. The player must select not more than 14 conforming clubs (see Rules 4-1 and 4-4) for use during his stipulated round.
He may select any combination of conforming clubs i.e. he is not limited to only one putter or only right-handed or left-handed clubs.
After discovering this, my product suggestion is that WGT allow for more manipulation of the type of clubs that you can carry in your golf bag.
I am probably going to buy the Level 96 Odyssey Versa putter but until I get a lot more used to it on long putts, I would definitely still carry my Max Control putter if I were allowed to by WGT.
I could easily drop my 75 yard wedge and use the 100 yard wedge at less meter or punch type shot for those distances. That would enable me to carry the 2nd putter.
So what say you, WGT ? I think more club substitutions should be allowed on here.
