Does anyone know what the PGA rules are for the combination of clubs that you can carry in your bag ?  I know there is a limit to the number of clubs.

    Here is why I ask.

I rented the level 96 Versa putter this past weekend and love it for putts less than 20 feet.  However I like my Max Control(Master+) putter better for putts over 20 feet.

So I tried something.  I tried dropping my middle wedge and replacing it with the 2nd putter.  WGT does not allow that.  Now I believe that in real life, the golf rules would allow me to carry 2 putters if I so chose (though I don't know of anyone that has done that..lol)

If carrying 2 putters is allowable via PGA rules, then I think that WGT should allow this as well.  Heck, you can hit a wedge shot on the green in WGT and how often do you see that happen in real time ?

    Feedback ?  Thank you

I carry 2 putters in real life and I use a wedge on the greens too. Just saying.

I just found this right on the USGA home site:

    Rule 4-4

Types of Clubs Selected for the Stipulated Round

    Q. May a player carry more than one of a certain type of club (e.g. more than one putter or driver) or carry some right-handed and some left-handed clubs?

    A. The player must select not more than 14 conforming clubs (see Rules 4-1 and 4-4) for use during his stipulated round.

He may select any combination of conforming clubs i.e. he is not limited to only one putter or only right-handed or left-handed clubs.

After discovering this, my product suggestion is that WGT allow for more manipulation of the type of clubs that you can carry in your golf bag.

I am probably going to buy the Level 96 Odyssey Versa putter but until I get a lot more used to it on long putts, I would definitely still carry my Max Control putter if I were allowed to by WGT.

I could easily drop my 75 yard wedge and use the 100 yard wedge at less meter or punch type shot for those distances.  That would enable me to carry the 2nd putter.

So what say you, WGT ?  I think more club substitutions should be allowed on here.

It does make you wonder if those at WGT actually play the REAL game.

AceHoler26: We will definitely have to take a look at this especially since we continuously add more putters with different specs. Thanks for sharing this feedback.

Excellent....hopefully you can easily work something like this in.

Another option might be letting the players chose the meter scales for whatever putter they purchase, up to a limited number of meters obviously.  Just like the fixed number of clubs you can carry.
