getting on the green is not a problem for me.  The problem is reading the slopes and making the cup I always miss by a little or lip the cup.  Is there an easy way to read the greens?

If you're getting close and lipping the cup you pretty much have it figured out, but reading greens is kind of an art rather than a science.

The hole is only 4.25 inches wide so the further you are from the hole the less likely you are to make a putt.

Keep track of how many putts per green and how many putts per round you have to gauge how good you are at putting.

Par is set allowing 2 putts per green, so the goal is to have fewer than 36 putts for 18 holes and average fewer than 2 putts per green.

No.  There's no way to be 100% certain that you're reading the break correctly.. short of experience.

There are many threads in this forum on putting.   Here's a good one:

Also type "putting tips" in the Search box on the right and you'll get links to many posts on putting.

Read 'em. Study 'em and try 'em out in a practice mode game.  Load up a starter ball and use the mulligan feature to hit the same putt as often as you want until you make it.  If you use your regular ball be aware the mulligan will take hits off your ball.

Also there is no substitute for putting in the reps and gaining feel through lots of experience on the greens,if it were easy we'd all be TL's.
