  Hello All.......ok I've been away for quite a while and have returned to play( very rusty too...lol) but I have noticed that when putting the green speed besides having slow, normal fast...etc, there now seems to be a number there also......confused....what does this number mean and is there anywhere on the forums to explain number.....thanks

  Those numbers are supposed to be "Stimp Meter readings" ... however, you'll notice that while the green speeds change, these numbers don't.

  It would be really nice if when they increase or decrease the green speeds, that these numbers change too.  Anyone see this happen?

  You'll also notice that they take the old wind speed and put it in the middle of the numbers shown on the screen.  (say you have 11 - 13 mph winds showing ... that means the wind is blowing at the old 12 mph).

  Yep.  When I first saw it all I thought great stuff, but it's all just a picture.

  Yes and it's odd how I noticed it. Our CC has a bracket thing going where you defend your title. The green speeds for the last one started out Fast so you saw Fast 9, like you'd expect.  Now there's a CC 9 holer with Fast greens but it shows as 9.7 and sure enough, they're faster than the Fast 9.

  Will look for that.  Played champ stimp 13 a couple of times and varied same as champ could anyway.  Thanks for that though.

  Well I'll be dipped.  I seem to see Fast 9 ... and they play like Fast 9.7 ... or Fast 8.5 depending on what settings they used.  I'll check for that as well.  I tend to play a lot of practice games these days.  Maybe it's always Fast 9 on Practice games (and the green speed varies).

   I did too until I ran across that CC tournament. Never glanced at the number because I knew they were fast but the first putt surprised the heck out of me as it shot by the hole. Next putt I see the 9.7.  :-(
