As a statistical person this error is really a rulings issue. This past round I while playing hole 15 at Bethpage I hit my second shot onto the green and then putted the ball into the fringe. I then putted back on the green and made 5. The stats showed I hit the green in regulation. This is wrong because if you hit a green in regulation and then putt it off you are no longer consider to hit the GIR and would be considered a missed green. This is a PGA ruling.
