What club is best for getting out of the high brush? I have tried everyone and ended up with many more strokes that kills my game.

For lightish stuff I'd say use your hybrid but if it's really thick then a punched wedge would be your best option and just aim to where there is less trouble.

There was that same kind of concern at this thread.

    My quick answer was basically:

    'shortest (quality) wedge',

    'punch',

    'full top spin'.

    'ding'

Yup.....beware that light brush won't give you more than 10-15 yards, brush over 50% won't give you more than 5-8 yards if not less, you better find the best "naked" spot; green, fairway, rough or sand within that distance.

Even from 70-80% "medium brush" a starter SW will carry 6 yds and roll another 5 or 6 on level ground.

70-80 med brush, starter sw, full

From "light brush" even up to 60-70% you can punch longer irons as long as the distance to carry to the fairway is less than 20 yds or so. A middle iron will go about 1/3 of the listed punch distance from "light brush"

A few practice rounds intentionally hitting into this junk will make it pretty clear that the best thing to do is hit a wedge to the closest "short grass"

As far as top spin or back spin it doesn't really make much difference.
