A 5 foot level putt with the dots taking 10 seconds go across a grid in front of you will break approx 3 inches. THIS IS A FACT.

A question for you mathematicians please. ( I am not)  How much break should be played for 6, 8, 10, 12, & 14 seconds across the grid?

Also, How much break should be added for each additional foot?

A brain teaser perhaps?  But possibly a worthwhile one!

(Please don't make jokes about my question)

I don't have the answer to this, but have to think that this is an incredibly complex math equation.

    The challenge is: speed.

The ball is not traveling the same speed across the entire grid and as people have said before, the break affects the ball more when it is moving slower. Inside 5 ft you may be able to use some what of a linear  equation, but the further out you get the more complicated it is going to get, IMO.

Now that you can change the dots to move forwards and back, you might be able to come up with something, but what you come up with may not be anywhere near the equation that WGT uses.

Its an interesting question and curious to see what people more adept at math than I am have to say

no disrespect to your question. most would have thought of it, very few would have ever done the math.

The rest of us dial up 6 to 8 ft of putter weight  allow  for break (experience)  and smack it in  (or not :)) )

    cheers

You can overthink things on here, especially with the built in variations. Personally I have no systems for anything. No spreadsheets, no notes and no calculator.
