I have google chrome set to go directly to the game client and use chrome for game play only. profile pages, wgt forums, cc homepage etc... are all accessed from a completely different browser. is this the recommended way to get the best gameplay from WGT? and if it is could someone please explain the reasoning behind this?

    thank you in advance,

. Personally I use Maxthon 3 for the game and IE for the other stuff. It works well.

may I ask why the game plays better on its own browser?

some browsers are more compatible with wgt than others, having a dedicated browser doesn't make the game play any better, keeping your temp files/memory/caches cleaned out does...

more convenient but won't play better...

When you use a program like ccleaner to get rid of junk files you will see that browser like "Chrome" and "IE" produce and store over 10x's the temp files that browsers like FF, Opera, etc. do...it is beyond me why anyone ever uses IE or Chrome for anything.

I use FF for everything and I have a shortcut on my desktop that takes me straight to the tournament page here, best of both worlds...lol

    Optimizing Your WGT Experience

     Supported Web Browsers

We currently support the following browsers:

Internet Explorer version 9 and higher - Get the latest version here
Firefox version 3 and higher - Get the latest version here Preferred
Chrome - Get the latest version here  make sure you have pepperflash turned off.

I use Chrome and I have CCleaner configured to clear Chrome each time I close it.

So before I play I close Chrome and when it re-opens I only open the WGT game client page.

Another important step is to clear the Flash Player Website Privacy Settings panel. I have CCleaner set up to clear that at the same time I close Chrome.

Recently I have started to use only firefox for wgt, I wanted one just for wgt. Chrome is my goto browser fro pretty much everything so I couldn not use that -  and safari did not work too well with the meter. Firefox works ok with the meter. Like you Dav, I use this browser only for the game now and just browsing the WGT site also. I don't know if that helps performance, but it makes me feel a bit better knowing I am bringing less variables to my WGT browser performance.
