    Ranked & Practice Rounds

When you have used or lost your last ball, and you don't want to buy any more of that kind, you should be able to CHOOSE, in game, which new ball you will equip.  This way you can move on to those new fancy balls you have upgraded to and not have to finish a ranked round or match with the starter balls.  (For those who will site some PGA tournament rule, those rules are moot as changing to starter balls equally violates them). In a ranked round you should only be able to do this for golf balls and only when they run out.

    Practice Rounds Only

Let players fully access and change clubs balls avatars, etc. however and as often as they want. The reason this is good is so they can truly practice and compare different clubs.  If I want to rent and try out a couple of drivers I can use mulligans to see how they work on the same shot.  I can compare new irons to my old ones IN GAME or practice with a couple of putters.

WGT, this may well BOOST your equipment sales and rental income AND will make it less necessary to develop driving range or practice green scenarios.

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi

changing balls mid round is against the rules of golf. You can always change clubs/balls but then you have to start a new round.

this topic (of changing balls mid round whether by choice or because current ones have run out) has been discussed dozens in times in past. Many threads went into detail and can be read by searching.

ABSOLUTELY WRONG, ICON, AND YOU KNOW IT!

The One Ball Condition you are referring to occurs only when the tournament committee invokes it. It is used in higher level competitions and the USGA even clarifies in its rules Q&A that it is generally not used in country club tournaments. Let the country club tournament committee enforce it if they want; WGT people are not the members of any given country club let alone the elected or appointed tournament committee for that country club.

Additionally, in a normal round of golf there is no tournament committee. The round is not a tournament and if playing alone it is not a competition. If more than one player is in the round then the players involved should decide whether or not to invoke the One Ball Condition during the game setup.

There is absolutely NOTHING in the rules that place any restriction on any equipment being used in a practice round. Free substitution of any equipment is allowed at will in rounds declared as practice.

Yes, Icon, it's been discussed ad nauseum in the forums. It will continue to be suggested as long as it is allowed under the rules as currently written and people want to improve the realism of this game.

With due respect, that cannot really be your learned argument.  Here is why.

    1) If there is no ball changes allowed by rule, then in order to enforce that rule you must force players to buy the same ball or forfeit the round.  But since you allow a ball change to the starter balls you are already violating the rule. So if you are already violating the rule, why not allow us to violated it in a way that does not harm the players round. I thought I already covered that most obvious flaw in the "RULE" argument in my original post.

    2) You violate or omit some of the rules of golf elsewhere in the game.  Especially in the area of water, lost balls and unplayable lies and being able to drop anywhere on the line of flight under some circumstances. You do this most likely because it would be very difficult to allow players all of the choices that the rules of golf entail.  That is understandable in a GAME such as this.   But because these things occur already any fundamentalist adherence to a specific rule of golf without like adherence to ALL the rules of golf seems just a tad illogical.

    3) Even if you force your obtuse and illogical argument for ranked rounds, you have no basis of rule or fact to force it upon practice rounds.  That is just being stubborn and it is unseemly.  Here is at thought. You allow mulligans in practice rounds in clear violation or the rules of golf.  Hmmm.

    4) It is a GAME not the PGA and it is not out of the realm of possibility to make it better even if it deviates a smudge from the rules.  This you well know since you already and understandably deviate elsewhere for your needs.

And that sir is why your response sounds to me like you did not even read my original post, which of course is very likely not true.

Just a note, I know there are other threads on this topic, as there are for many topics. However, in the face or illogical and in your case condescending responses, one can only carry on the cause for the possibility that someone over there will see the light.  Perhaps the fact that it is being discussed STILL tells you that it is clearly unresolved and that your GOLF RULES argument is inane.

Thank you for listening, my apologies for any brusqueness, the tone of your response put me off considerably.
