Are the winds in RG's or Stroke tourneys the same for every participant or are they random ? I just had 15 headwinds out of 18 holes in the Trick or Treat Best of Par 5's Tourney.........there is no way these guys with 63's and 64's could have got headwinds like i did to score that low...........i was only able to hit 3 greens in 2 shots and you just don't hole out from 60 - 100 yards 7 or 8 times in 1 round...surely the wind speed and direction should be the same for everyone.......

    Thoughts please.

    Greg.

Had about the same thing, 15 headwinds all about 4 or 6 oclock, and the three that were not my ball club forgot they have alot of spin. lol

edit: can't spell or make sense. wow 3 edits to get one grammatically improper sentence posted!

Totally random Tanner...and given wind on any given hole...all you can do is try again.

I've had front 9 head winds, back 9 helpers...never know.

    yes it is  random.

Somedays you are lucky with tailwind on a par 5 and easy eagle, some you get a 20 mph left to right wind  on a dog leg hole right to left.

I hit a tree and landed on the baby tees lol(congo b9)

this was a bogey, next time wind might be right to left and land me with a eagle wedge distance.

It is the same for all, and a lot of fun.

Best of luck next time , and best wind wishes too.

Yes, it's random, and it sucks!

I really feel it should be consistent for all players, particularly if, for example, you're playing something like a Credit Bracket, where you only get one chance to play your round  - conditions really ought to be the same, ie FAIR,  for everyone.

It's too bad the wind is nothing more than  a/b interference, this makes it very unrealistic.

That also makes it, in theory, much easier to play against vs 'real' simulation once you get a handle on the percentage of interference pertaining to it's 'clock' position.

I personally think it's okay, they job they've done with it, this game is quite limited with respects to environmental condition simulations they can use, it is after all a 'streaming game' played within third party browsers.

I recall on more than one occasion in an annual Mens tourney saying " Geeez guys....we shoulda played early this morning when it was dead calm" !.In our part of the world the wind traditionally picks up in later afternoon.

I guess my point is... the conditions are not always the same for everyone in real golf either. The wind blows for some....it rains for others and the greens bake or get soggy. It's just part of the game. Happy hitting all.

It's funny just how random it is.  I was playing a round at Kiawah ready go at the same time as someone else and on the 2 par 5's, one of us had tail and head wind on each of them, while the other had head wind on both.  Goes to show it's completely random and not even based off of hole #1 to determine other holes, which I suppose is a good thing for the unlimited tournaments.

I have always wondered about this until about  3 months ago when i was fortunate enough to play St Andrews myself. The thing with the lay out of the course is the 2nd hole is in the same direction as the first i.e they both play away from the club house. Having played this game for a few years now i made sure to look at different aspects as i hacked my way around the course. But the think that struck me when i got home and on to WGT, was playing with a tail wind on the first hole, then on the 2nd hole having a head wind. So either the wind did a complete 180 turn or the wind in this game as no reflection on course layout and it is predetermined before you play what way the wind blows so you get results like you had where you play 15 headwinds and 3 tail.
