They tried the "ridiculously low forgiveness" setting on irons/woods about 5 months ago. The shitstorm that ensued was nothing short of epic. Some folks were calling for heads to roll. It was... frightening. :o
I'll take the yardage the way it is, I certainly don't want to go back to that couple of weeks. Firestorm is right on, I think we almost had a riot on here!!
