Most likely this has been mention before.  At times you need to take your 2nd shot down the left side.   Sometimes the ball rolls out of bounds and you are force to replay your shot. If the ball traverses a lateral O.B.  shouldn't the drop be at the point where the ball crosses the O.B. line.   Secondly, the player may have several options, which includes moving back along the line (or closest releaf) no nearer the hole.

Those options would be great, but it is only OB because of mapping issues.  I believe in real life those balls would still be in play.

It would be nice to pick the spot where we drop our ball.  The idea there would be a line and the ball would move up and down it until you selected the spot where to drop.  Don't know if this will ever be an option, but it would elimate drops in hard sand on Kiawah #17 as well.

    Cheers,

    Infinito, bogey,

Same thoughts. Wrote about it in another thread: http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/26731.aspx

Would be nice 2 hear something from WGT about this: OB because of mapping issues and the possibility 2 choose dropspot.

    Hi guys,

I hear ya on this. I lost many balls and many ready go's went south cause of it. But, unless I hear otherwise, I do not think there will be a quick fix on this. And, I don't know if it will be redesigned anytime soon,

That's as straight as I can be

It would also be nice to see some kind of OB line when you are adjusting your aim for that shot i still don't know exactly where the OB shot parameter limit is,maybe small white posts or an OB indicator in the camera shots would be nice,

You only get a drop where it crosses the line of a lateral hazard, not OB. OB is not considered a hazard, when you lose a ball or hit it OB, you are penalized stroke and distance. If you're second shot goes OB, you play your 4th shot from the same spot you hit the 2nd. There def needs to be some mapping corrections made though, it's a crap shoot when you have to go left on the hole.

I stand corrected, I was thinking of a lateral hazard, not O.B. which is handled differently in the USGA Rules.

When I aim, I consider the line what I cannot see on the map from aerial view as OOB.
