    Hi,

New player, struggling to level up due to stupid scores early on in game...

Now, stupid question... On Tee off....I check my line before the shot, about 1ft to the left of the hole, Wind speed is 5-6Mph aiming south, slightly south-west (aka down and LEFT).I hit the ball dead centre, hit the meter perfect, the ball ends up in the right bunker. How does this keep happening, when I'm doing everything 100% right?

As far as I'm aware, according to all of that, ball should have landed Lined up 3-4ft to the left of the flag, NOT in the bunker to the right!

This is not a one-off, It's happened on a fair few shots now. I understand that variables will always apply, but gong the opposite direction to Aim\Wind\Execution is not quite right IMHO

    Perhaps you are already doing so, but if not, with all Tee shots & approach shots, using the reverse view and then setting the aiming arrow is a more accurate and reliable function; using exact distance expectation and taking advantage of slopes and contours in the near landing vicinity. Be exact. ;-}

    Good day Sir .

    # 1 ,,   Starter clubs .

    # 2 ,,  Some times going for the Pin with starter clubs is not the shot to take , Some times the fat of the green is the way to play .

    # 3  ,,   Check the forums , There is a Christmas give away going on , Santa,s are giving away things from the Pro shop .

There are (almost) no stupid questions - yours certainly isn't!

I see that you unanimously played CTTH and some Blitz - I can't especially cope with that.

Generally speaking, there are a few factors influencing the shots significantly and beyond belief.

    1) is that they vary with different probabilities, giving you a WTF shot in the extreme.

    2) is that shot quality depends on the equipment used.

You have Starter and low level equipment in your bag, and this is prone to imprecise shooting. Don't worry, you can advance with it, but it may become difficult in some future. So, choose wisely if you want to become better and "suffer" more difficult environment due to tiering up, and subsequently, investments.

Mind you, playing ranked strokeplay is an almost inevitable prerequisite to advancing ;)

    PLCarl:
Wind speed is 5-6Mph aiming south, slightly south-west (aka down and LEFT).

Fairly critical info is missing, namely, distance of shot. (Elevation would be good, too, but not exactly critical unless pretty severe.) Given the parameters, I'd expect the wind to move your shot between 2 - 2 1/2 yards for a shot of around 100 yards, more or less flat. For a shot around 175 to 190 yards, that would easily explain ending up in the bunker, especially noting the inconsistency of your current clubs, as mentioned by others.

This might help, or at least get you started.

    Wind

Good luck, and remember that there's no fighting VEM.

Every thing the guys mentioned above is correct. Think about joining a CC as well, you learn better from friends than the general public. Yes, there are no stupid questions, and yet  the same thing happens to me every now and then, and I've been playing a year with 1200+ranked rounds, lol....Welcome to WGT!

"How does this keep happening, when I'm doing everything 100% right?"

Sad to say, no one ever does everything 100% right....;-)

Thanks for the replies... I'll look at upgrading the kit, and joining a club

Tried a few ranked stroke plays, only 1 taker so far, disappeared on the first hole, I still had to finish the round, and get nothing for it lol!

You won't ever level up playing only CTTH.  Play the unlimited stroke play tournaments to get the most "bang for your buck" so to speak in XPs. That's what you need to get to higher levels and get better equipment.  If you really want to learn the game that is where you want to go.

Figuring down to the yard with starter clubs is an exercise in futility for most players.
