    Hello Folks.  Good friend and UEL expert Corwyn has induced WGT to offer a Special UEL Starter Clubs and Ball "only" Challenge Tourney on Bandon Dunes Par 3 Course. A "Tough It Out" Special Holiday Tourney for all of us. I know, par 3 in UEL??? Well all you have to do is land tee shots on the greens with starter clubs and ball from the tee boxes selected and  it'll be pretty easy. ;)

    Icon has provided a link that has "club restrictions" built in. We'll all be playing starter clubs or you can't tee off. Special Gift prizes will be the purse as gifted by Corwyn, bhose, and some others. Here's the "thing". YOU HAVE YO TAKE SCREEN SHOTS OF YOUR STAT PAGES to qualify for the special gift prizes.These screen shots of the stat info must be posted in the Tourney Thread as seen in the Community Organized Tournaments Section.

    The "Link" goes live on Monday December the 22nd.  Below is a copy and paste of info provided by Corwyn in the Community Organized Tournaments Section.

    TOURNAMENT ENTRY LINK IS HERE!  (starts Mon 12/22)

    The tourney is open to all tiers and levels. We'll all be using the same clubs, balls, green speeds, and lies. We really do want to encourage newbies to give it a go. It's a great chance for new players (who may be more familiar than old fogies with these clubs) to pit themselves against the best on WGT, and for the experienced player, it's a opportunity to revisit the fun of playing the game without the pressure of needing to make a birdie on almost every hole.

    Here are the tournament dates and conditions:

    R1 :: Mon 12/22 to Sun 12/28 ::

    18 holes; Bandon Dunes; Hard (Green) tees, Moderate wind, Tournament speed greens, Uneven Lies, equipment restricted to Starter Clubs and Ball

    R2 :: Mon 12/29 to Sun 1/3 ::

    18 holes; Bandon Dunes; Championship (Hardest) tees, High Wind, Championship 13 greens, Uneven Lies, equipment restricted to Starter Clubs and Ball.

    Prize info to follow shortly...

    WGTdbloshoe will award a sleeve to the top 10 on the final leaderboard

    in addition... here is the current information on special prizes being offered:

    Ben (bhoese) has generously offered several sleeves in prizes. One sleeve each for the following:

    1) Low score level 70 or lower (level at conclusion of tourney).

    2) Longest putt made.

    3) Number of saves

    And Corwyn will add to that prize pool, with a sleeve each for:

    4) Highest overall percentage of Greens in Regulation

    5) Greatest overall total distance made putts.

     We will welcome any other prize sponsorships you'd like to offer. Feel free to get creative, e.g. ctth on a particular hole, holes-in-one, Least Number of Bogeys or Worse, Most Number of Birdies, etc, etc, or add extra sleeves to any category already listed.

     Remember: To be in the running for special prizes, please note you will need to share screenshots of your scorecard and stats.

    Some final thoughts. These Tough It Out Tourneys are hard and the Starter Clubs have a limited ability. It's up to the player to extract the most from the clubs while keeping in the mind the conditions and the shot situation at hand. IMO... it's Golf at it's finest. We have to play completely intuitively on every shot. Risk and/or reward are part of every stroke.

    Enter if you like playing rounds that are hard yet fair. Please remember to take screen shots of your scorecard and the stats pages after the round and post them in the Tourney Thread that's in Community Organized Tournaments Section.

    Have Fun because it's the best thing to have and Good Luck. :)))

    If I knew how to I'd enter......it's not so much taking the screen shot as it is one button, BUT..

    Where it goes to and how to retrieve it is anathema to me :-(

    Hey Andy,

    I didn't know how to take screen shots and post them until I read THIS THREAD.

    If you don't pick up how to post the card and stats, play the tourney anyway if you would. It's pretty hard but a lot of fun. :)

    P.S. .....and it's not Kiawah.  ;-)

    I'll probably give this a try, but I would encourage more use of SLOW (or "fast") greens if you really want the lower tiers involved --- and to give upper tiers more of a challenge.  Always tourney and champ get dull after while, yes even at Bandon.

    Thanks for running this though!
