    I hit tour pro when my average made it to 72. I think I was level 41

    i made tour pro with an ave of 76 , dunno how this works as there are others with better ave who are still on pro tier

    WGT said that when they changed the way the averages are calculated (now only the best rounds at your current tier are counted), they also said you have to play a minimum number of rounds in each tier before advancing. They will not say how many rounds. That could explain people with a lower average who have not advanced yet.

    It's not that it's impossible to advance with free equipment, it's just very hard. With the good equipment (including balls) it is essentially a different game, because of the accuracy, spin and control - not just the distance. With the free clubs, even if you plan and execute your shot perfectly, it may not end up close to where you aimed. Then you have a long putt, and the free putter is not accurate either, no matter how perfectly you plan and execute the putt. It's a vicious circle.
