  When I use the OBS to record only, it's fine and not noticeable at all. But, when I try to stream, it takes 4-5 seconds to load after every shot, and when I try to check different views. I play fast, and this throws me off (gotta blame it on something). Is there something I can do to make it load quicker, or at least close to normal? I have 6mbps download speed and only .43mbps upload. CPU is never over 5-6% and computer is clean.

  .43 is not huge.

  make sure your monitor resolution is accurately represented , and do not set your output above 720.  It is also also imperative to make sure yout your twitch out put is set well below your upload.  

  My output is 1200kbps on a v poor day (kids also hooked up to something at home I guess), and 1500 on a good day / time.  My twitch setting output though is 900 tops, and that is ample.  How much lower you can go no clue but I doubt the inbuilt settings will match what you have, and so need to be reset??????????

  EDIT: Plenty YouTube vids out there discussing the issue also.....

  OK. Thanks Jim. I'll check my settings and and the YT videos as well. It doesn't affect the meter at all, just the load times. They're similar to what I during a lot of multi-player games, watching someone's (or mine) spinning and waiting. 

  .43 is not huge...lol...understatement of the year.

  .43 is probably too slow for stream without pause :(

  I didn't know you had posted here, and just came to post some pics of my settings to see if that might help me. It says my settings (aspect ratio or something needs to be 16:9, and I can't see where to change it. But, you're probably right about the slow upload speed. It takes an hour to post a 15 minute video to You Tube. I did notice that the twitch recording uploaded and processed to You Tube in about 2-3 minutes, though. I guess I'll just have to stick with the record only. besides, I can make myself look better than I really am by only posting the really good rounds ;-) 

  Streaming live shows too many "oops" moments.

  I see you have 'automatically save stream to file' so I'm guessing your making a separate file on your computer AND streaming. If that is true then there might be a heavy load on your computer because it is recording AND streaming.

  Twitch has the option, as you might already know, to record all your broadcasts transmissions so it may be smoother on your computer if you uncheck  'auto save stream to file' on OBS and let Twitch archive the game.

  I have only skimmed this thread, so I may be digressing. Hope this might help.

   

  'To make sure your Twitch is set to 'archive broadcast' you can check by going to your 'settings'. I usually find it by clicking on the Twitch logo upper left, then to the top right - your name drop down menu under 'settings', then go to 'channel & videos' and scroll down to make sure you checked the box that says 'Automatically archive my broadcasts'.

  Per my above change your out res..that's the "res downscale" that you have at the enormously "gimongous" 1440 size of your monitor I presume, and 720 is plenty enough for those with v adequate connections.  May well need go even lower (if even lower may also still be useful - google that 1??).  Also as I suggested make sure that base resolution box is representative of your monitors recommended native res (assume that's 1440) .

  Did you downscale your bitrate at all also as I suggested???  900 is way big enough, and IMO you should be way below that - way below. 2/3rds your speedtest.net max upload is probably nearer the mark - I get 1.5MBs and have it set 900 going at 720P currently.  Loads on google on all that.  Try 440 res and 300 bitrate???  have a look and mix until satisfied.

  Also you can fiddle with what servers you connect to after all that.

  I also note the red in your screen shot, and I would  address that.

  EDIT: Forgot to say points in addition to JFs...never read all his post slow, but seemed sensible stuff per his norm.  

  Also check your audio.  Most any one would care about is a ding, and that don't have to be in quadraphonic super subwoofer rumble sound:)..Leave as is to start with and work down if still issues / google.

  ALSO (as wanted check mine more, loads more not exactly same ideas out there, LOL):

  Also see what twitch say.  Only looked daunting even to me for 2 minutes - pretty easy to follow, and can be easily up and running with 15 minutes blocked out (max if take time to understand more than need).

  EDIT: I have teens here who also use bandwidth (as they do) at the same time.  I tried 480 downscale  and 750 bitrate and meter smooth as silk (as it was when higher).  Anyway point is I think it's fine for what anyone cares about.  You may well need to go even lower on the bitrate but I am thinking with 10 minutes experimenting yo may (I hope) get something v useable together.

  Thanks J....I unchecked the save file box. Off to try it out. Oh, and I have the settings set to archive now.

  Thanks Jim. The video was really informative (the 2nd time I watched it, lol). I also found a video while watching that one, on streaming with really low upload speeds using OBS. I think I've changed everything in my OBS settings after watching that video. I hope it works. Off to give it a shot.

  I appreciate all of the help from you, jfidanza, and Icon. It's not like I'll be "required" to twitch a round (unless I start frequenting that internet cafe up the road) because, just as last year, I don't see myself ever making the top 70 in any of the tourneys. I enjoy Bandon, and will probably play it daily. But, I won't be wasting time and balls restarting 10-11 tourneys over and over just to make the cut(s). I'd rather watch videos and do surveys :-). Feels more productive, and I see immediate results. It's about the only thing I've mastered here on WGT :-)

  I've got it fairly playable now. In order to get the 16:9 ration, I had to change my screen res to 1280 x 720. I tested it, and it looks a ton better, as far as not having that delay on shots or lag, but my meter doesn't show up on the screen anymore.
