It makes me mad when i miss a straight ten-footer because i didn't click on the white line. I am a 18-handicap, and i hit my putts straight 95% of the time. The putting keeps me from getting a good score on every single round, and three-putts are common. I only three-putt once or twice a round IRL, but i three-putt 4 or 5 times a round in-game.

What exactly are you having problems with? Distance or the breaks?

FWIW every putter, here on WGT, has its own set of quirks. Some putters like the "ding" (heavy White line) - some don't.  The more that you pay for a putter (surprise) the more accurate it gets.

Please see Forum threads about the meaning of "Precision", "Forgiveness" and "Balance"- found in the SEARCH box to the right.

Eg: my L77 Nike does not like the "ding" for putts over 5 feet  (the ball will drift to the left on a "ding") The Forum says that putters with higher "Balance" numbers like the "ding" better.

If you are having trouble with gauging how much power to use, again the Forums can help.

If you know how much power you want to use, but are having trouble figuring out where that 'spot' is on the bar - look at "Putter Pal" from WGT (or be cheap like me, & make one yourself).

Good luck - remember this is a journey - supposedly for recreation - and no one except WGT make a living here!

Out of curiosity, what does the title of the thread mean?

That seems quite natural. Not all "straight" putts are really straight. And, for the longest time, I had a hard time to hole out those 5-footers.

So don't get mad, but practice! Try to get the distance right, then the direction, to become a confident two-putter. Be advised that the green speed changes with each tier until Tour Pro, with consequences in distance and slope reaction.

You must not think that a better putter on the screen would help, first the putter on the seat has to improve. (Don't buy another putter below 500 cr)

    What helps? Practice.

And, did I mention it? Practice!

    Have fun, enjoy the game!
