reported a bug today on 14th s.a. - wind 20mph in my face, hit good drive but not enough club into the wind to clear the trouble.  played safe to the fairway across the gully.  ball landed just over the rough, rolled to the middle of the fairway,  suddenly a notation on the screen "ball out of bounds".  my ball was in the middle of that fairway.  what makes my EXTREMELY unhappy was the taking of one of my paid for balls.  can't tell you how many times things like this happen and one of my paid for balls just goes away.

Sorry, shoe, it's not a bug. See here for a more detailed look.  :-)

Sky and Icon if you check this thread look how involved Niv was in getting things corrected. That is what we need you to do.

Not fair, btb. Niv was a special character with some serious smarts. Everybody learned from him. IMO Sky and Icon are doing exactly what is needed. Hell, icon is right there dispensing excellent tips and ready to straighten a point out for you as well as keeping order. . LOL-this place is quite sane these days.   :-)

First of all, YES nivlac is quite special. That's why I am trying to score an invitation to his house for some majestic turkey dinner.

Second of all, what nivlac wrote here, still applies.

Is there a reason why people are hitting over there on 14? I don't see the need, or how someone could wind-up over in that part of the fairway to begin with.

Legends have no choice if they want a decent look at the 3rd shot. High winds that knock everybody's drive down force you to play over there -go too far and you'll find the downhill portion and wind up OB.

Oh yes they do have a choice. In the days where I had a 240yd driver I had to play the shot there many times and eventually figured that just right of the bunker is where you had to be - but getting there was a completely different matter. Then I came across this wonderful post by tiffer which helped a lot http://wgt.com/forums/t/27406.aspx.

I understand now. When a tee-shot is at the back of the fairway, they either play for par, or get a birdie try from that part of the fairway. Thanks Jim.

To both Sky and Icon I apologize I know you both are working hard trying to help us. As Jim pointed out Niv was a special person . He worked his butt off for us and I assume he still is.
