Hello there. I would really like to make a proposal about this one-time tournament that I have been thinking of. We all know that players at the best tiers make ridicolous scores, because they are great players and they have the best equipment available on the shop.

It would be really interesting if WGT could organize a Random Drawing tournament, including all the tiers, with a good prize for the first places, to play with starters equipments & starters balls. Just one time. It would be crazy but we ALL would be in equality.

I hope you guys think about this. Thank you!

Agreed! It would be great to have a widely-publicized open access Starters event.

The notion of everyone playing one tournament with the same conditions and equipment is very appealing, and I'm certain would give a huge boost to entry-level players to see themselves alongside TLs and Ls, and encourage them to persist with the game.

The programming ability to have restricted equipment events has been in place for over a year now, but apparently there's a problem with putting them into the main Game Client Tournament list (I was told it's that the required clubs list is so long it somehow limits the # of participants... very strange and frustrating!).

Anyway, we are running every month this year a Starters event parallel to the main Virtual Tour. It's part of the Tough-It-Out concept: with uneven lies as well (just to add to the fun!), and 2 x single-rounds. All tiers are playing alongside each other. Sadly, we can only promote it through the forums for now (but we are hopeful that WGT might create a pop-up ad, or a News Item to help spread the word).

Check it out this month's event thread here and follow the Tourney link.

I have just joined the tournament. I have a few questions though. When you say "starters balls" do you mean the white balls with no WGT logo impressed? And the other one is: how do you make sure that we all use the correct equipment and that we are not cheating? THanks a lot for joining to my idea!

Tough It Out has been going for some years now, and initially entrants had to post screenshots of their equipment when playing a hole. But now I think WGT have implemented a check procedure when u sign up and enter and try to play whereby it will kick u out if it detects anything other than starter clubs and ball.   U then have to re-enter when u have correctly equipped ur bag.

Well worth entering whatever  ur tier and level, and rub shoulders with some of the games best.

Alright sir, thank you! I hope to see myself at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the 18s. Good luck!

yes and would be interesting to see how much of a difference top clubs, balls and putters really makes, especially among the elite players.
