Anyway...further to the nothing to do premise..

Looking over all threads tonight and re reading many good ole ones too..

leads me to the conclusion that......

WE, the ppll who post often or it could be said "an inordinate amount"  ( not me obviously ) give short shrift to newcomers...even when they ask the same questions I did 3 ish years ago.

Can't even remember how it got to the point where I just type whatever comes into my mind @ any given moment ...

BUT I do remember being slightly reticent in the beginning asking what clubs I should buy / how to get out of rough etc etc etc ( might go back to find an early post, you'll see what I mean then lol )

Wondering HOW any of us got comfortable enough to start speaking on the Forum..cause rightly o wrongly it seems you do have to 'earn ya Stripes' to be accepted..

Maybe it's strength of character, coupled with some longevity and a touch o narcissism ?

Noticed that thick ppl don't last long either..no staying power on the site in general

    Just musing and ruminating..........

I would never cross the boundaries of talking about those taboo subjects....well seldom do.

For years the taboo subjects forbidden at work were Politics (hey I lived in a benign dictatorship - who DARED speak politics, especially when every word you say is recorded (paranoia sneaking in here), Religion or Sex (latter bothered me as at least you can have an interesting and rational conversation!)

On top of that being 10 hours with someone invariably younger and you have no common interests (perhaps except item 3) it was conversation flurry......of what are you doing when we get to XYZ - nothing with you bud...was my answer.

Took me forever to find the forums, then did ask questions after getting burned with dud clubs that worked for a week before ANOTHER fooking upgrade was required.

Not sure if I ever "earned my stripes" or whether I am respected.....happy with barely accepted. But I did have forum experience via an aviation website where I used to me a mod.....and if you think Icon and Co are bad at putting people into moderation, you should see that site. Posts are cut to shreds you think it is someone with the IQ of 2 - worse that some censored films in Singapore - at least sometimes what is left still makes a modicum of sense. Here at least they are just deleted (not that posts there did not get axed as well).

As for thick people, no they do not last long.....there are just tons of them....

I think this song sums you up Andy, always quiet and subservient......and would never dare to speak your mind, even when attacked by thick, stupid and uneducated idiots :))
