Tier advancement is not only based on scores, but a pre-determined amount of rounds played at each tier.

    Pulled from FAQ's....

My tier says I'm a "Hack". How do I change tiers?

Advancing to the next Tier requires a qualifying Average Score AND a minimum amount of completed stroke play games, which will take a little more time but will help players reach the Levels necessary to unlock upgraded equipment that is helpful to compete at higher Tiers.

    Cheers,

As far as I understand it, it's averages in tier, plus a certain number of rounds.  Your hack played three ranked/scored rounds (all of them have to be 9 holers for those kind of scores, so they get doubled).  So that makes 84, 76 and 72.  Add those and divide by the three rounds and you get an average of 77 and a bit.  Almost right...

PS  -  this assumes all the courses / nines were par 36s.
