True WGT fan with another observation.

    This time, it's about time.

Timers to be specific.  Having the option to limit players to :30, :45, :60, or :90 shot clocks is a well-intentioned update.

Personally I find it frustrating, avoid playing rounds with anyone who uses a shortened shot clock, and would like to offer an alternative.

True players, who play attentively, will take no more than 25 seconds to take a shot.  Oftentimes less.  During a round the majority of shots will happen quickly.

There are, however, a few shots a round that will take more time to pull off successfully.  Sometimes it's deciding whether to pitch or flop; sometimes it's reading a long downhill putt for a good lag, or a tough shot out of the rough.

These shots may only occur two or three times during a 9, more for an 18, but the player is PENALIZED after only two time outs.

The real kicker is that this feature fails to prevent what it was created to prevent.  It was added to keep players who are playing inattentively or taking too long from slowing up "faster" players.

Any student of the game knows that even the fastest of players will, on occasion (two or more times a round), take more than :45 or :60 seconds.  I very rarely time out with :90 to work with.  I have timed out exponentially more times using :60, :45, or :30 second shot clocks.

If you want a speed mode with :30 timers, go right ahead.

But if you want to be able to play to your fullest potential, and score well, do not start games with any limit on the shot clock.

I am not asking this be changed, only that my fellow players acknowledge what I have observed.  If you feel the same, let it be known.

    Cheers,

    Leethal

I see what you're saying. The best way to go about it, I find, is to create your own games.

The timers are a blessing. I HATE when players take over 60 sec. to hit the ball. Theres no need to take this long even in those situations mentioned. I like the 60 clock.

I find 60 sec. about right...30 sec.... OK,  unless aiming, shot type and club selection are slow in process by no fault of mine
