    So, I went the L81's and like them, but still had to try the platinums for gits and shiggles.

    Question for those who use the platinums.  At what point do you start adding for head wind?

    Playing a quick 3 hole practice round before work to get my day played bonus and had 153 yards to the green with 9-11 mph almost directly in my face.  So I hit 150 no spin dinged it and it carried 153 yards lol.  Do you only account for wind over 10mph, where maybe a 15 mph wind in your face is treated like only 5mph?  LOL

    Would be too costly to try and figure these L90's out.  :)

    For me it is difficult to be definitive. With use with L-97 Nike irons in light wind, the 150 yd iron can be trusted to deliver 155 yd's with neutral spin. And yet, one finds that all greens and their reactions are not created equal. I will go with pixel power levels of TS or BS before changing clubs in even moderate wind....Heavy wind ? I don't like it so I don't play in it....here, or for real.  ~ SP ~

    H, with the lvl 61 balls I use that 150 club is a bear to figure out...mine consistently carries 156-157 no spin, with backspin into a slight wind anywhere from 144...if I have any kind of helping wind I will use  it with topspin on 163yd shots...

    I use the pw, 9i, 8i, from 112 all the way to 161 out all the time with any kind of wind....

    Pretty cool Big-D, but I would require a strait-jacket if faced with that many choices and variables...heck I would have to start taking notes, buy a notebook, set up a spreadsheet; while always knowing I might pick the wrong guess along with a missed ding ;-}

    Well, I find myself back to this decision again lol.  But this time I went with the Nike blacks just to get a feel for them just in case WGT ever does add the Volt yellow ones.  As far I know the Platinums aren't available in Volt yellow.  The Nike whites are too though, but for the cost between the Nike whites and blacks, the blacks just offer much more ability on paper.

    Why WGT hasn't added the volt colored Nikes yet blows my mind.  They know I'd spend the credit's to play them LOL.

    Now that is a question. There are quite a few with easy, obvious answers yet the "why hasn't ?" is still in play.

    the blacks

    they really pair well with the new L99 R1 (5 to 7 yards longer than the L96 Bertha), plus they have more than enough spin, so you can vary the spin to deal with inbetween yardages

    For wgt, blacks.

    For real life, platinums (they're awesome)

    So, just for fun, I've been marking my driving with the 96 Bertha & the Plat ball, and using the B of 5's 18. Just two games so far and each hitting 3 iron on #11 (Beth #4) 36 fairways hit, ave's were 309.68 and 312.19 or 310.95 ave. And so if what you say is true, I can buy the L-99 and the black ball and ave 315.95 or 317.95 ? NAH -  I free rented the 99 this weekend and....no dice

    Never said anything about the Plat ball. I have no clue how the plat ball works with the new R1 as I've never played the plat
