So, I just got moved to Legend. That's nice, but I'm still at just level 73 so I'm looking for some club advice. The L75 SpeedBlade (same as L79 Rocketbladez but for cost as near as I can tell) would get me 10 yards and a little more spin. My first round left me with longer iron shots, and I wasn't happy with the sticking power of my Pings.

Is it worth it to upgrade to those? I have plans to move to the R11s at L90 which is about 5 months at my current pace. At that point, I also plan to upgrade balls as the club upgrades won't be as often. I'm not sure about the meter speed on the SpeedBlades and whether I might need to spend a little more on balls now. I don't have free videos to watch so cost is a fairly decent concern.

I had figured to move to Legend in a few weeks around L80, but 2nd place in a weekly tournament was apparently enough for WGT to promote me now. Also in the plans are the high-level Clevelands and the L79 SLDR.

I'm mostly thinking about what to do as far as irons and possibly balls, but I'll ignore appreciate any advice.

If money is no object,,,,,then as you progress through the tiers get the longest hitting clubs you can buy,,,,, driver, irons and 3 wood,I carry 3 wedges they seem to be a personal preference but i've been using the clevelands for a couple years now and love them,,my preference for a putter is the Nike mainly because I like the 10,20,50,100,150 distance increments,,,,I always bought or used credits won to get the best equipment I could get my hands on as I progressed through the different levels,,,I made legend in six months then TL in exactly 1 year,,the top of the line equipment does make a huge difference,,,as far as those fancy spendy balls (Nike's) I have no need for them,I have used the level 35 Callaway ($3.00) a sleeve since TM and have done just fine with them....best of luck in the future................

Work out what meter speed you can cope with - and then get the best clubs you can at that meter speed. It is advisable to maintain as near as possible to a matched set of clubs for meter speed. If you have some at 4.0 and some at 2.5 you are likely to find that you fail to develop the muscle memory / feel the DING. With all at the same speed you settle into the timing a lot more easily.

You have a good 3W for your level - and a Driver upgrade might give some 5-10 yds of benefit. But the Taylor Made SLDR at Level 79 is probably wort hanging out for. It has a good set of stats at a 3.5 meter speed.

I would think the Level 85 Nike Forged irons would be a good next step. The TM R11s are good for distance - but you need to work out if you can handle the meter speed of 2.5 compared to the more manageable 3.5 Nikes (which are available to you much earlier). Then stick with them up to a level 97 upgrade.

    A nice matched set of wedges is available at levels 76, 78 & 80  (Cleveland 588 - 56, 60 & 64 degree lofts).

Everything is personal taste and of course there are a host of different opinions. If you are not sure - try waiting for a rent-free weekend once you get to these levels and try before you buy.

Enjoy these upgrades - as the levels start to get few and far between pretty soon.   :)
