When creating tournaments, there are 2 options

    1. Single play

    2. Unlimited play

    Consider a 3rd option - Round Limit Play -  selecting between 2-5

This 3rd option is needed for many reasons and will add a challenging feature to tournaments.

    Thanks

    Good idea.

Here's another idea along the same lines.

Be able to create a multi-round tournament, but only the best so many rounds count towards your score for the tournament.

For example: Set up a 4 round tournament and only the best 2 scores count toward the total for the tournament. This allows 2 screw-up/wd rounds or allows somebody to just not play 2 of the rounds.

Currently in my CC I set up 5 separate 18 hole tournaments during one month, and only count the best 4 rounds for determining the winner of the monthly tournament.

I am not that keen on multi attempt rounds, BUT I understand the economics of the day....SO another possible variation...

Have say a 5 round (or any number) limit but only the last round you attempt will count.

For example I play and shoot a 60 for the 18 holes but I am confident I can do better....but I shoot a 62. My score posted is then the last score - the 62.

The danger is if you quit after say not getting birdies on the first 2-3 holes. It would not make sense (from WGT POV) to disqualify you but would be the only option. Not really much different from a normal WD in a single play round.

But as I said, not a fan of churning out round after round, never have never will (including VUSOPEN).

I like this version, but would only add that restarting without finishing the round first play a part.

I don't like the unlimited rounds much either, but always try to post a score first before restarting.  Unless, I get a big meter spike that ruins a hole.

Would be nice to limit restarts alone.  Unlimited, sure, finish the round and if you think you can do better then try again, but most recent score counts.  The ability to set how many restarts would be a nice addition IMHO.  Set the restart limit when setting up a tourney, say maybe  3 restarts but still keep it unlimited as long as the round is finished.

Restarts in my suggestion meaning you restart before round is completed.
